ok..... discuss? what on earth? A convertible second gen? is that true or is it a bluff? I heard that it's the same thing as convertible third gens- a dealer conversion, not a factory option. This true or what?

It's true. You don't see many of those, because there weren't many made. A total of about 400 convertibles were made on the 1979-80 models. They were converted by a company called National Coach Engineering in Michigan. The thirds gen's were converted by a company called ASC (American Sunroof Corp.).
Neither 2nd nor 3rd gens were built as a convertible as a factory option.
The canvas top on that one looks like a very sloppy fit. Could be the top bars are just out of place? A unique and rare car though.

yeah I noticed the loose fit... I knew the 3rd gens were converted but i didn't have any clue that second gens were too at any point in their life... that's pretty cool, I like it...
