Default Will this fit?

Will these headers fit on my stock 80 z28 I'm not worried about the motor I'm worried about the a arms. It says something about it and wondering if I can get away with leaving the stock suspension

I'd guess if it says they must be modified, then you should talk to the techs at Summit before ordering and see what the mod is. Summit techs are very helpful from my experience.

What there talking about is a piece of angle that runs from the lower rear a arm mount diagonally to the frame. Its beyond common. I didn't even know there was a brace ever there until I started on my 80. My other car had headers before I got it, so when I transferred the headers from one car to the other I was freaking out. Then I looked it up and everyone pulls that piece out for headers.

Vall your must not have had them because it an early car. If memory serves me they came along in 78, I may be talking out my **** on that one though.

Anyhow. There are two bolts per side. It won't affect the handling or safety. I think it was there for rigidity. Again, out my ****.

Mine were grinded a bit to fit headers, maybe not even 1/2"

Ok so it's more of an enhancer to the steering than a necessity

Definitely not a necessity, there are probably thousands of these cars that have them removed for header clearence. As mentioned above you can modify them to fit,all you need to do is cut or grind a small section to clear 2 of the pipes, but it's easier to just take them off.
