Default Where is reverse switch?

Hi all. I have a 1980 Z28, and the backup lamp won’t light up in reverse.

when I cycle through the floor shift, it comes on briefly before I get to reverse, then shuts off. So I am guessing that the switch is loose or out of alignment.

i took the center console out, but can’t find any electrical connection going to the PRNDL, other than the lamp.

Is there another switch somewhere?

I think the auto is in the column, might try adjusting the shift linkage a little and see if that changes it. manual is on the trans.

Your reverse/neutral safety switch (one unit) is mounted at the base of the steering column, under the dash.
