I almost went and bought a 4 bolt main for 50 bucks this last weekend. The guy couldn't tell me anything about it though. Whether or not it was a one or two piece rear seal or the casting numbers on it. Basically just said, "Show up with 50 bucks and take a look yourself". Plus a friend of mine was put in the hospital so I didn't have a lot of time this weekend. I may contact him back and try to make the trip since it's a little ways away.

Well, ordered the forged pistons earlier this week. Thought they would be here today but FedEx is the Suxxor apparently. What would normally take UPS three days to get here from Seattle Washington takes 5+ days for FedEx from Iowa. As soon as those get here it goes to the machine shop to get punched out. I'll have them check it over to make sure the mains are still good and maybe deck it.

I'll post some pics when the parts start arriving.

I hate the waiting part of building up a car! I have little patience.

So I got the pistons today... had to go to the FedEx terminal 40 miles away since they attempted delivery at the wrong house.

Now I'm debating on going with H beams or I beams. I know I can get away with Scat or Eagle I beams with what I'm doing but I like the peace-of-mind from the Scat/Eagle H beams. If I really had money to throw at it it would all be Crower, ha ha.

Edit> Btw, I found a site selling Eagle H Beams for 335 dollars (5700B3D). I'm going to see if Summit will pricematch their 440 dollars for the same part number.

KMJ Performance also has a set of... *shudders* ..Pro Comp H beams for 250. Not sure if I trust Pro Comp yet to that degree even if Jegs is selling their stuff.

some pics:

Full float, dual spiro locks on each side. The locks are kinda wild looking too. Not like anything I've seen before.

Spiro lock:

What I was expecting:

I've seen those spiro locks before, and they go in pretty easy, but never have figured out how they can get them out if they needed to? Your car is going to be really fast(er) when it's done!

I hope so.

Just found this link on installation with a tool. In the purchase tab they have a plastic version that's only 25 bucks. May go with that.

I'll try installing one side of the piston tomorrow maybe. If it goes easily enough then I won't worry about the tool.

Just wanted to give a head's up on the Summit pricematch. Just got their 425 Eagle H-beams for 335 with 13 dollars shipping. Matched it with no problem so that's cool.
