hey man. i have a 79 an just put a 350 in it. i put an edelbrock high rise and a 650 performer carb on it. my next thing is def. the cam with roller lifters/ rockers. after that i will b pushin over 330 hp easy. so im fine with that. than im gunna take a break an do some body work for a while than after that im gunna change the heads completly and im gunna leave the fuel pump an just put a edelbrock performance pump... but hey the options are limit less .. so good luck brotha

Same ones hear couldent afford any crome or polished aluminum.
the thing with the lifters is I dont really want to buy the intake gaskit.I was gonna just go with the aluminum heads but being over $600 it's kinda hard to afford any thing.

How much Hp does the lifters give me.

well with replacing the heads. your still gunna need the intake gasket. and if your gunna do lifters you should change the cam also. that will give u more than just roller lifters alone. unless u got a nice performance cam shaft. and do the rockers also. u can get an entire kit from summit. im lookin for all the same stuff. so i sit on the john with my summit cataloge( i know, thats nasty. but my camaro has takin over my life) but that will all def. help for more hp on a budget.

Go with the MSD ignition, or Accel. That is cheaper and you won't have to take it to the shop to instal.

I would run the MSD and Ignition first just because it’s a cheap weekend project. Question for the guys running the high rise. I am running one with my current 350 in my 79 with a street avenger carb and am having clearance problems there is no way for me to get a filter up there and close the hood. I have considered just buying a new cow hood but I kind of like the sleeper look. How did you clear it?

You can get one of the edelbrock triangle foam air cleaners, or a drop base air cleaner. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...10002_71910_-1 I have the holley powershot and it has a drop base, about a half inch heigher then the edelbrock filter. .......... This is the edelbrock, not great but works. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...43327_-1_11349
