Default What is a good gear ratio?

I have a 78 Camaro,I just put a 500hp 383 stroker in it. It has a turbo350,and Ibought a posi diff with disc brakes from a T.A. and I would like to know what gears to put in it. I plan on racing it but I still like to drive on the hi-way. Any sugestions would be appreciated. Thanks

something in the 370 range. 373 is a common ratio used on the street and track.

If you want to drive it at 70mph, you're going to have to go with something like a 3.23 or 3.42 ratio at the most since you have a non OD transmission.

Even then you're going to be turning around 3300 at 70mph.

Default Frame connectors

Who makes the best style of frame connectors? I would rather use the bolt on style.

3:42 makes a good compromise for both street and strip. If you had a smaller displacement like a 302-350, I'd say go for the 3.73 gears, but with a solid 383 with 500 HP yopu don't need anything that low to make it work well.

What he said. That stroker will have plenty of torque to get you off the line so you don't need any of the lower ratio (higher numerical) differential gears. Think big block gears (sort of) and you'll be in the hunt.
