I have a mild 385 stroker in my Camaro. My power range is off idle to 5800 RPM and makes a lot of low end torque and mid range power. I have a TH350 with a 11" Coan 2600 RPM stall conveter, 27" tall tires and 3.42 gears which are perfect in my set up. I turn 2800 RPM at 65 MPH on the highway. But I mostly drive around town.

If you're not going to turn more then 5500 RPM I'd go with 3.23 or 3.42 gears.
