So I think im getting ready to get a 79 camaro Rs. it has a 350 with headers,a street cam, edelbrock intake, edelbrock carb, and 3.73 posi aftermarket rear end. T-tops. It's my dad's friends. He wants 1200 for it. It needs cosmetic work.. ( paint, carpet, etc.) It runs great no mechanical problems. sounds excellent. What do you guys think? Any Ideas on color? I was thinking black or red but Im open to other suggestions. Also Can I put the seats from a 3rd gen (or 4th gen) into this 79? Cuz I know you can put 4th gens seats into a 3rd gen but I don't know alot about 2nd gens.

 

I imagine you can put in seats from a 3rd gen Camaro, they appear about the same, not sure why you would want to. As for the color, it's not a very popular choice for most cars, but the brown color Chevy offered in 1979 really looked good, especially with the decals on it.

 

The seats are a hideous tan color. I was wondering if the bolt pattern was the same for a 79-81 as an 82-92 when it comes to the seats?

 

Haha, well not sure on the bolt question because I've never done any work on 3rd or 4th gen Camaro's. As for the interior color it's probably camel tan, which is what I was saying looked good on the car. So you might want to throw that suggestion out.

 

The rails to the floor are different, but from the rail to the seat is the same.

 

nice color iver ever seen on that car and please consider it is that greenish grey that they make the 2005 pontiac gto with.. it looks amazing on older cars
