Couple pics of the center section out of my console that I wrapped today. I think it looks pretty darn good.

Looks nice 73z. Does that stuff just stick on there or is there more to it?

I stopped and checked on my car again today. I've made the bodyshop a regular stop on my catering route so that makes it pretty handy. Every day he picks at it. He has finished removing all the bondo and lead from rear quarters to expose the PO's welds. Looked pretty good. Makes a big difference in the body lines. Much more pronounced now. He's going to start working on tying the outer wheel wells, quarters and trunk drop offs together and welding the leading edge of the quarters in the jambs. They were all there but needed to be welded up. Got my car in his shop just in time to because he's taking on 4 more restos including a 50 merc, two late 60's Mustangs, and a 55 BelAir. Plus he has his own 70 Cutlass in que so he's gone be busy all winter.

Hey Pablo I'm just curious how much will this body work cost? I'm just wondering for future reference, are you getting it painted as well?

Any estimates on how long he'll take to finish the body and paint work? Sure hope it's ready for spring cruising! ;)

73z is that 3M Di-Noc? I thought about wrapping one of my extra consoles in it.

I think we're going to be doing some bartering for a good portion of the job so it's kind of hard to put a dollar amount on it. Plus things can pop up or plans change? I can give you a better idea when it's finished. And yes he is doing the paint as well.

More than likely it's going to be fall cruising but I'm okay with that. Two things I never tell anyone doing work on the Camaro for me. I need it asap or I'm in no hurry. :icon_teeth:

Very similar, but not 3M. Ordered it on E-bay

Spent the afternoon getting a few more things off my completed checklist!
Been having issues with the throttle cable drag, with the tight 90 degree bend at the end. So I tore it all out and built a bell crank to allow the cable a straight shot at the crank, and then the crank does all the work. I know I could buy one for about $20, but it's more fun to build one! Got it installed and the throttle pull is nice and light. Actually had to add a 2nd return spring, so each carb has one, to give a little bit more tension on the pedal now.
Here's a pic:

Also got my radiator fan mounted permanently and built a little support to keep my heater hoses up away from the header heat. You can see it bolted to the front valve cover bolt. And got the fan switch in the dash to control the heater too! The little red handled valve on the heater hose is to control the temp, or turn off the heater in the summer!

Damon, here's the pic of the radiator mounts. Just 2"x2" angle with a plate welded to the bottom and bolted to the crossmember. Then holes to screw into the tank bosses that hold the radiator.

And the M/T Sportsmans don't hook up well with the open rear, so hopefully I'll get the gears and posi done when I save up a little more cash!:

I'm tired, time to get some grub and get warm! ;)
