No car question is a dumb question, they're all good. It's going there because a PCV valve needs full manifold vacuum, and that port provides it. Could also have gone to the one behind the carb on the intake, but my brake booster is using that one and I don't want oil vapors going into my booster.

My first run with the Austin was OK, but it's raining so hard there's flooding everywhere, so couldn't really drive much. Tought to even see with no wipers, and I was so excited to take it out that I forgot to Rain-X the windshiled. Also forgot to put gear lube in the rearend until I heard it growl. Had to return home and lube it up before going back out. Pulled the cover to inspect first, but all looked fine, and since these 2.73 gears are going bye bye, it really doen't matter.
Stopped at my neighbor's house and picked him up on the second trip. Wanted a second ear to listen for strange noises. We got into it a little, but it just spun the tires and fishtailed. Even without posi the car seems to try and spin both tires in the rain.
Tomorrow I'll start dressing down the wiring and getting the little things tidy, then it's on to interior and body work.

I'd say half car and half beast. It's definitely not a car to take on long trips! With solid body mounts, solid motor mounts, solid suspension mounts, racing buckets; it transfers every vibration from the engine firing, and bumps in the road! I love it, but I know it would be tiresome on any trip over a few hours. I'll save the Camaro for those long trips; it's a much nicer cruiser!
But the Austin is exactly what I wanted; a street legal race car that I could have fun with!

Got the front brakes working. Had to power bleed them, as there was an air pocket trapped inside the front half of the Subaru master, and it just wouldn't budge. After that they worked great!
Snuck around the back streets to get to the local gas station and get $20 of premium in the tank. Something wrong with the gauge wiring or sending unit, as it still sits on empty with a 1/2 tank of fuel.
Finally a little break in the rain, so enough traction to feel like it wants to lift the frontend off the ground. I must be getting too old, cause it scares me and I can't keep my foot in it.
I did get to wash off the months of dust and dirt accumulated during the build. Not much better looking, but some improvement.

Got all the front chrome grille and lights polished up as good as they'll get. Those little LED inserts for the turn signal lights work great, and look almost like the original lenses.

Better get the front shock mounts finished and get the KYB gas shocks installed so it helps control the bounce a bit.
