What did you do to your camaro today
#1081
Well yesterday the bodyman was upset that his help left town for the long weekend and he had planned on working on my car. So I offered to go in and help him work on my car. I was thrilled when he was like "Hell Yeah". So today we got some stuff done. We fired her up and let her run a little first. He hadn't heard it run and he seemed to really enjoy that. Then we pulled the hood and fenders. Next he lined the door to rear quarter gaps until they were perfect. Then he DA'd the doors and worked out a couple dings and creases. The passenger side had a bunch of dings in the body line. Then he applied a layer of filler and gave me instructions on how to sand it down. While he repeated the steps on the other side. I snapped a few pics today of our work and also a couple pics of the dash in the 56 Bel Air he's been picking at.

That's great progress! Cool to see it happening, and even better to be part of it!
That dash is very nice on the '56. Is that the owner's car, or a customer's?

Thanks guys. It's nice that my car is finally getting some serious attention. Joe was still working on my car when I left and I'm planning on going back Monday. The 56 belongs to a customer. According to Joe this guy has quite a collection. Mostly Bel Airs and Impalas. I guess they are trailer queens like your Austin Vall (chuckle) all except this '56 which he wanted to be an old school hot rod.

Did some more long board work on the doors today. Line is perfect on drivers side now but still need more work on passenger side. It was 95 degrees today and a couple hours was about all I could bear after work. Joe said he's going to split the header panel apart someday this coming week and re-weld it so it lines up better. Factory did a lousy job on this one. I'll be sure to get before and after pics of that.
