What’s this engine worth?
I just bought a 1968 RS/SS 396 but it has an engine from 1972 Camaro. Was considering LS swap and wanted to see what the value of the engine is. Carb and intake are not correct. Engine runs great no smoke or leaks.

If it has the suffix CTB, that's a 1970 Z28 motor.
Assuming it has not been messed with, that's one sweet mill.
Four-bolt mains, forged steel crank, TRW impact extruded pistons, 11:1 c.r. high lift, long duration cam, Holley 780-cfm 4 barrel carb, Winters high-rise aluminum manifold. Spark via aluminum single-point, vacuum controlled distributor. High-performance oil pump, baffled pan, windage tray. Cast aluminum rocker covers with internal galleries. Deep groove pulleys, mechanical valve lifters...

Yes, up on further review it appears GM used this suffix on a number of small blocks, from 70 to 78.
Now I'm interested as well as to what's under your hood. Keep us up to date as you learn more about it.
