Mad Mike is the founder of Nasty, I didn't click the link so if it don't go to the Nasty site. There is everything you need there to break it down.

thanks, the damn po cant find the build sheet. when he was looking for the title he didnt come across it so...... im kinda jacked about that. he has bought maybe 100 cars from us so he doesnt even remember getting one, its been like 18 months now since we sold it to him. we pulled it from the back seat, kinda doubting there would be another one somewhere else. i know on a lot of older cars they were also on top of the gas tank, but ive yet to see one on these 78-81's

Build sheets were taped to the top of the gas tank on the old Vettes because they are a full frame car, and the drivetrain options could be followed as it rolled down the line. It makes no sense at all why a build sheet would be put on the tank of a unibody car. Build sheets were not a required addition to the car, they were simply used by the line worker to tell them what options to put on the car. The worker could have stuffed the sheet anywhere inside the car to get rid of it, or they could have just as easily thrown it out.

ya, i know that it had one, cause i removed it from the back seat myself. and they were on the tanks of chevelles and el caminos as well. my old man has had about 5 70 chevelle SS's since i was a teen and we found 3 of them on the tank and the seat, 1 in the seat only and 1 not at all. guess texas were notorious for not putting them in the cars at all.

Those are full frame cars, so on the gas tank makes sense.
