is there a way online to check the history and value of a car pre-80s? every site ive found only goes back to mid 80s, i have a 79 and would like to know more about it. im on the previous owner about the build sheet... they are looking but no guarentees

See what a similar car is selling for on Ebay...It also depends alot on where you live. Someone might get 50K plus for a restored 60's camaro in Scotsdale Arizona whereas that same car wouldn't even bring half that in my shiaty little town.

Almost every month Hemmings Muscle Machines prints what cars have sold for in recent auctions...

Also, companies specializing in insuring the older cars know the values. Haggarty would for instance. I don't know how willing they are to part with this info though.
