Default The validity of certain websites...

I would like to apologize in advance for my extreme newbdom, but I have a question.

I am currently looking around for some floor pans for my '79 that I'm gonna get working on soon. I have come across a number of websites, most notably, ss396.com, jegs and ecklers camaros.

Being a resident of Columbus Ohio, I know for sure that Jegs is legit, I know ss396 is cool. But what about these cats at Ecklers? Has anyone dealt with them before? Would it be worth it to buy through them.

The only reason I ask is I have lost some money to some bogus stuff online before, I just want to make sure everything is legit before I go shellin' out 'insert obscene amount of money here' to get this thing on the road.

My apologies if this is not in the right board to be posting this in.

Eckler's is a huge and long time established company. They started out exclusively selling resto and aftermarket parts for Corvette's, and have been around since 1965. They pretty much carry everything under the sun, but sometimes I have found them to be slightly pricey compared to other Corvette suppliers. It depends on what you're shopping for, because some of their own products are top-notch and are recommended over others.
They expanded into the Camaro field a short number of years ago, so you're dealing with the same parent company. For apples-to-apples parts, I would still price shop with companies you know.

Year one makes floor pans, probably even the ones ecklars sells, I think you need to find a distributor for them though, so ecklars might be the best choice, or NPD even, as said above.

A large majority of the sheet metal parts on the market come from a couple of manufacturers overseas. The sellers here only apply their sticker to them. There are a few parts for F body that are made here, but mostly just small parts. About the only difference between some parts is the markup in price from one supplier to the next. Considering that floor pans are not part of the body work that shows when finished, I would just shop for the best price. Quarters and fenders are a different story though.
