Hello, I have a 1980 z28 camaro and I've been having some trouble looking at wiring diagrams and figuring out some electrical stuff. This is my first project and my first car. I'm trying to fix it up so I can use it as my daily. The unknown wire, is on the far left side of the engine bay. It's in some wire loom and it's a light brown/tan wire, with the end being circular with a black connector. Its unplugged and I'm not sure where it belongs. I appreciate any help. I know a lot of basics but wiring really messes me up! Thanks.
Please excuse my lack of knowledge, but is that something that would effect the performance of my brakes? My brakes are currently nonexistent, when I have the car running the pedal goes tight to the floor board, I thought it might be a vacuum leak, but I'm not completely sure.
The safety valve connector is the wire that would turn the dash brake light when there is uneven pressure in the system. The valve is actual called a combination valve since it has the metering valve, the safety valve and the proportioning valve all in one. FIY Pedal going to the floor is also a sign of a brake fluid leak. A vacuum leak would cause you power assist to not work and make the pedal much harder then normal.
Wires disconnected, the pedal going to the floor, Sounds to me that some non-professional work has been going on and you need to go over the whole brake system.
We know where that wire goes but is is likely there are wires that are not plugged in. GM uses standard wiring harnesses that have connection for every option so on cars that are missing option are probably wired for it. They will tuck or tape the connectors out of the way but after 40 year they can come loose. .

Hey, thank you for the advice. When I bought this car, a multitude of issues unfolded on our 2hr drive home, the left rear shock wasnt properly secured so it came out of the hole and destroyed my left rear tire, and there were more. I suspect that he didnt bleed my brakes, and simply stoped up my reservoir. So I guess a bleed would be my next move. The reservoir is full and I've never seen any brake fluid on the ground, so I think it's just a bleed. Regarding the brake warning thing, I believe I have found where it goes, so far I've seen every option on my car, but I'd have to double check. I really do appreciate the help though, I'm just a high school kid trying to figure this out!
