Default trans trouble

im in the middle of swapping out the transmission in my 81 z28 and i noticed theres an electrical plug-in on my stock one on the drivers side above the linkage and the trans im putting in doesn't seem to have it. it's an earlier th350 and when i've looked my stock one up its comes up as th350c. do i need the plug in or can i just bypass it? thanks for any help

I am not real knowledgeable about transmissions but in my search to solve my problem I did find out a few things the 350c is a lockup style trans third gear locks with the torque converter and doesnt slip I think it was for fuel economy the lock up was electronically controlled hense the plug. I am not sure if not plugging it in will affect the computor in the car but the normal th350 doesnt use one it has a slotted detent cable and a vacuum operated modulator those with you shift cable is all that is required. By the way I dont think the lock up convertor will work in the regular th350 but I could be wrong....
