Default Timing Adjustments

I have a 79 350, and on the emission's sticker on the radiator cover it says to adjust the timing to 8 degrees before 0. But in the shop manual I have it says to adjust it to 6 degrees. So I was confused about that, went online and looked at the nastyz28 site, and it to says to adjust it to 6 degrees. Which one should I use as my timing?

If you have an automatic, you can do it the old school "brake-torque" way. It takes two people to do it though. That way you can get maximum advance right before the engine "pings".
