Default TH400

I am planning on sometime getting a th400 transmission put into my 79. What would I need to know in order to peplace my Turbo 350?
Is there a certian measurement I would need to know?
What about somewhere i can get one?

I found this:

http://redlinetransmission.com/turbo400.html

but would that be the best route?
Could I get one rebuilt for less?

A th350 will handle quite abit and takes less HP to run. The th400 comes in both long and short tailshaft, the mount location is a few inches further back on the 400 which means you might have to move your crossmember back and the driveshaft will need shortened, the yoke is also different size. In our area Rossler is a respected name.

Not sure about the rebuilding costs in your area its around $550 to $650 for a typical rebuilt one in our area.

I'd go with whoever gives You the best warranty for the money spent.

The TH350 is still pretty strong and it's a lot lighter than a TH400. I've actually heard that TH350's are better on the strip because they're lighter and have a lower first gear.

With the Engine I am planning on getting... (383 Stroker 400-500 HP) What would be the better choice? 350 or 400?
