tan to black
In the 80 camaro I have I have all camel tan interior, I really don't like it at all, and since I am in the process of restoring, i'm going to make it the way I want it
now, instead of spending $80 for a new backseat armrest that is black can I repaint my tan ones? If so, do I have to sand them down or spray a primer on there? I've been looking at something from duplicolor, it's called vinyl and fabrics and I've heard from a couple people on another forum that they've used it many times and It works great, with no chips or cracks.
I was wondering what you guys would say to that or would you suggest a different product? Or what you would do if you wanted to do this
thanks alot guys, this is going to help me alot

i used sem products that i bought from www.nationalpartsdepot.com .you will have to clean it ,prime it then paint it.they sale the plastic cleaner ,the primer and the paint.i had one new piece that kept fish eyeing on me but it finally took after the third time, dont know what was up with that.i went back with the original carmine.i had to buy almost all new interior parts,i salvaged a few kick panels and lower dash parts.you can sand a little bit ,but you have to be easy and use fine grit sandpaper.you dont want to sand away the pattern thats on the plastic.if you sand to much you will have a smooth spot that will stick out like a sore thumb.the only panel i really sanded hard on was the piece that that covers the bottom rear of the front seat.it was crumbling and i couldn't find a better one so i sanded the **** out of it ,smoothed the whole thing.no bodys going to see it because its at your feet sitting in the back seat.i also heard you could use krylon fusion and i dont think you have to use primer, just make sure its cleanthis paint is made for indoor/outdoor plastic.you can buy this at wal-mart,auto zone.i wish i would have done mine in black, but mine turned out alright.all carmine dosen't look the same going from vendor to vendor,so i had to repaint some of the new stuff
I was just looking at npd's catalog and I saw some stuff for doing tat but it didn't look like it was quality stuff. Thanks for enlightening me on that.
I'm also looking at duplicolor vinyl and fabric's which is looking like the better choice
