Sub Frame
#2
Welcome!
I don't know of a source for a new subframe. You'll most likely have to settle for used, and the best source for used is a wrecking yard. Best to find a yard that isn't in an area where they're all rotted out too. The other place would be Craigslist in your area, or spread out and check CL in other cities near you.
I know of lots of sources for wrecking yards and private folks with solid subframes around here(Oregon) as we don't salt the roads and subframes are almost all in great shape. But that doesn't do you much good, as shipping to you would be pretty high.

Hit the bone-yards. Down this way you can still find late second gens. Most are missing fenders and hoods and the interiors are gone or trashed but the subframes are usually intact. If you can remove them yourself you could probably get one for around $100 to $150. You might post up a Want to Buy thread on here or one of the other camaro forums. Good Luck and Oh yeah, Welcome.

New is nice but geez. Prices are sick. I like searching the junkyards. LOL. Half the fun of fixing up my car has been scouring the country side, junk yards, e-bay, trading parts with other car guys and asking around. Everything you need is out there somewhere and it's usually closer than you think. LOL. Every dollar you can save on one item is a dollar you can spend on another. Until your car poor like me.

Dude I swear i just drove through Kokomo Sat. to pick up my new project. Noblesville to be exact. I will sell you the one out of my 78 for cheap, if you wanna drive 4 hrs for it. I also have upper and lower control arms that have been coated with POR 15 and have energy suspention bushings. I'll sell for $200? I have a ton of other parts too. Will post pics tonight after I unload my truck.

Well that makes me feel a lot better! Thought I was the only one selling off everything I could find to finance Camaro improvements!
