My 78 Sport Coupe has stripes on the top of the nose (no hood) and on the trunk and up the tail fin. I was going to repaint it any ways because the cowl hood I'm getting will be primer black.

I was thinking about keeping the stripes but wasn't sure if I should throw them on the roof or not. I can't remember if somebody told me that is just how Camaros came, or it was because Mustangs had stripes in all three places.

Would I be keeping it original with Camaros by just doing the two areas, or would I be insulting Camaros by doing someing found on a Ford?

 

It would look out of place to put stripes on the roof of any GM product. Chevy never put stripes on the roof of anything. I'd keep them where they belong.

 

Thanks. Like I said, I wasn't sure what I heard. Oh well, originality allows for a cheaper/easier paint job.
