Default starting to get bad thoughts

ok, so ive got a 65 c10 that ive been working on for a while, been hording a 454 in the corner for it. im maybe 4 years from being engine ready on it soooooooo im thinking maybe i should rebuild it and stuff it in the 80. not sure how well the super t-10 will hold up but im willing to test it out. its a non-A/C car so dont have to worry about the suitcase being in the way. should i?

Absolutely! No replacement for cubic inches! But I guess you knew I'd choose the BBC!

ah yes, the "no replacement for displacement" argument. I totaly agree. Anyone do the swap tat can throw in any things to look out for? I've got a 2 core now, gonna start the hunt for a 4

Best to do a search here at the 2nd gen forum. It's been covered a lot. I've done 5 of these swaps and they are easy! Yes, you'll want at least a 3 core, but a two core with two 1" cores is the very best! Also make sure it's the wider core too. Your core support is marked out for the wider area to cut out.

depends what your budget is, if you can afford it i would go with the bb. You can get some good HP from a SBC for a decent price. not sure if the weight of a bb will be a suspension issue?

well, they offer bb springs so thats not bad, im going to upgrade the tires and wheels so that will help stick to the ground. price of rebuilding my 454 would be the same as doin a cam and aluminum head setup. this engine runs well, thats why its a toss up for me. i just wanna upgrade it.

Unless you want it to sit higher than normal you wont need BBC springs. The SBC springs will work fine, and a lot of guys use them to keep the lower look vs. BBC springs.

The ST-10 will take a real *** whippin. Just don't side step the clutch at 3 grand with sticky tires. I would not dump the clutch at all really.

Hey your poll numbers seem a bit lop sided!
