Default Start of a Rebuild

Alright, just yesterday i began to tear my 283 apart... and i have a few questions.......
1. How might have a screw ended up embedded in the head of the piston?--- not that it matters, i'll be replacing them anyway, i was just wondering
2. My dad had suggested converting it to TBI.. any idea where i could get something to do this and would it be a hard project???
-PLEASE LEAVE ANY INFORMATION YOU MAY HAVE-

I don't know about number 2...but for number one, if someone before you was messing around with the car, taking **** apart, they could have just lost one down the intake...and depending on how big it was i suppose it could have slipped by a valve...either that, or they had the heads off and dropped on in and didnt notice
