Default SS clones.

So i have a 68 Camaro, and its a convertible. Its def is a looker, has really good body, and interior.

Its a driver, always will be, i believe in that...but i was wondering if it was worth it to make it a SS clone. I wont ever sell it.

When i first bought the car it was pretty crappy, but the previous owner slapped SS badges, striipes, etc on it. It wasnt sold to me as a SS...(actually i bought it for $3000 back in high school '94)

I was wondering what your opinions are on SS clones.

its all about personal preference, if you have a 396 motor than sure, if not.. just be proud of your car.

It's your car TopShelf, enjoy it! If you want it to "look" like an SS, do it. If you don't, don't do it. I too have a driver (the other is the "real deal" and isn't driven as much) and from a distance, it looks like an SS or a Z because it has the hood and the stripes and the Ralley rims, etc. In reality the driver is just a stock 307 2-sp automatic with Walker mufflers! It's a blast to bomb around in and easy to maintain.

I did it that way because I wanted to, it's MY car. I don't plan to sell it and have owned the driver for nearly 25 years. And if it was ever sold, someone would gladly buy it because THEY liked it. Preparing a car for sale is a different topic altogether because in that case you want to build one with as much mass appeal (color, motor, etc.) as possible to expand your potential buyer segment. However if it's YOURS, it is for YOU.

So my 2 cents worth of advice is to enjoy your Camaro and make it whatever it needs to be in order to BE enjoyable.
