Default Split Bumper from factory not RS

I have a seller with a 1971 SS Camaro that he claims is originally a split bumper from the factory. It is not an RS and I was wondering if he is telling the truth. Could the split bumper be ordered alone? It has the turn signals in the valance...

Thanks

According the nastyz28.com, the "RS" options could be ordered on a non-RS car. I'd want to see the build sheet or other documentation showing that the split bumpers were ordered separately without the Z22 option (the option for an RS).

Would it have the RS lights too if it was ordered like that?

That is simply a full bumper car that someone removed the full bumper and replaced it with the little bumpers. Its not an RS and it didn't come from the factory that way.

This is the first I have ever heard that, I'd like to see a copy of ANY build sheet that had that option, because I NEVER saw any Camaro running around like that in the 70's.

I'm with Bamaro, this looks to be a full bumper car that had the short bumpers put on. It doesn't even have the round turn signals, or the right grille.
