So im a newb to the forums but i just wanted some opionions because i cant make up my mind.....OK so i like fast cars and trucks, And right now i have a black 1980 z-28 camaro. I like it and it's a pretty nice car except that i have to keep fixing the same problem over and over and over. So my qeustion is should i rebuild my engine and keep it, buy a 95' 5.0 mustang that im looking at, or buy a truck and go mudding and stuff....any opionions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

 

i would go camaro. this is a camaro forum so most guys will say camaro. but i am a mustang guy also. SSSHHH dont tell!!!! but the camaro is so much better looking than the mustang. yeah there is just as abig an aftermarket for both cars, i have a 79. i just put a 350 in it. do that!!! CAMARO CAMARO CAMARO!!!!

 

I'm in almost the same situation with my 78 Z28. I'm trying to decide whether to sell or fix the problem. In all honesty it just really depends on what you like. I also have a 2000 Ram lifted and with tires and it is fun. However, if you like that plant your *** back feeling from speed then a truck is not the way to go. As for a Mustang, I'd say just write that off completely. In my opinion, if the rest of your car is solid rebuild the motor. If you don't want to keep it, I'd recommend looking around at some Trans Ams, Corvettes, etc. Keep it GM.

 

I am going to have to agree with your other two opinions and go camaro all the way. I also like to go muddin sometimes i have a 1990 k5 blazer and i love it, but i love driving a fast car better, and with that the camaro is the way to go. I would also say no to the mustang for two reasons, one i hate fords completely, and two a freind of mine had the same generation mustang with the 5.0 and had nothing but problems with it, so he went camaro as well. So i would definitely either rebuild the motor in the camaro or buy a new motor. Good luck with whatever you decide.

 

I have a 79 Camaro. Same body style as the 80. Very nice car. no way in hell would I trade or sell it for a Mustang! Stick with a real muscle car and get that 350! I'm putting a 383 in mine and its totally worth it!

 

rebuild u can always get ur money back from old cars.
