So after all this time of my car sitting i finally am about to get all the body work taken care of. i tried doing it on my own and i just hate it body work is not for me. im good at the mechanical part not the body and interior part. one of my friends dad who has been a body man for 30 plus years is doing it for me. i do know it needs rocker panels, well one for sure and i figured if im replacing one i want both done. my question is has anyone done this and if so whats the best company to buy reproduction rocker panels i really want them to match perfect which i know is hard to do with after market sheet metal. he told me he would get them if i want him too but i wanted to do soem research and find the best

 

unless there rusted you can slide hammer and dolly alot of it back into shape. but i do not know where to get re made. year one could have some? if they got floor pans they probably got rockers

yeah their rusted out one side feels like a pop can when you push in on it. looks like year one has them is this the best place you would order them from?

 

I'm pretty sure most of the companies sell the same parts from the same ***** stamping plants. I other words, just because it says year one on the box doen't mean there is a shop somewhere in the US making parts for Year One. The are just a retailer like your local grocery store is a retailer for Pop Tarts. I don't think Walmart has a Pop Tart factory. LOL I think OER has the best rep right now, but I don't have any experiance buying from them or anyone eles for that matter. Good luck on paint.

 

I have a set I'd part with. They are full outers R and L. I paid like $75 plus shipping for them. If you want them I'd take $50 plus whatever the shipping would be. If your interested I'll post pics.

 

I would agree that most aftermarket sheetmetal is crap, but rocker panels are one item that is pretty easy to rework and make fit correctly while easily making them look good too. Sounds like Pablo63's are a bargain!

 

mine are dented up some from who ever curbing or speed bumps or i dont even know. but when im ready spot weld bit and a dolly and she will be brand new.
