Default repowering a 70

ok, im sure this question goes around alot, but id like to know if anyone has opinions about repowering my recently aquired 1970 camaro with a new 350 HO deluxe crate engine.
the best price i can find is about 3499, and there doesnt seem to be much else for that price for 325+ HP that i can trust.
the car has what appears to be a 350 now, but i dont trust it cuz it sounds like it may have a rod knocking.
i have no idea what has been done to it although it looks stock with the exception of the edelbrock intake and carb.

thanks.

for 3500 i would just rebuild the 350 in it now you can have a badass 383 when done for 3500 bucks
try looking at this site for kits www.enginekits.com
good place and cheap on price

thanks for the reply. I dont really have the tools or the time to pull the motor myself and want a motor that I can rely on, so I figured this was the way to go. thanks for the urls.
