Rearend noise when turning slow turns

I have a spooled rearend in my 80 camaro, when i make medium size turns i can hear wierd noises in the rear area of the car, it almost sounds like my leaf springs or sway bar moving alot. could this be from the spooled rearend?

Well yeah it could, you're dragging one tire around corners all the time with a spool, they're really not very good in a street car that has to turn corners.

If you listen close, its your axels screaming for mercy. Spools will bust something fast on the street.

is having a spool rearend really bad to have as a 2-3 times per month cruiser?

Better to have a locker or some type of limited slip differential,I'd take corners real wide slow and easy.
You are at risk for axle or gear damage, spools are made for straight line drag racing.

Is it better to hit yourself over the head with a hammer once a day or twice? Twice is worse, but that doesn't make that one time any easier to take. I think you get my drift. ;)
The rearend is making that noise because it's getting stressed out due to having no differential.

The only time I've seen someone get away with running a spool rearend on the street was on a very light roadster (like around 2000 lbs.!) where the tires can break loose every time they turn. If the tires don't break loose turning, then something else has to give or break. Lose the spool and go with something made for corners.

OOORRR just do a burnout every time you turn a corner.

Or, oil up the inner rear tire before taking a turn.

Or... only drive it in the snow! ;)
