Rare or not?
I have recently aquired, for 75 Dolars, a parts car. It is a 79 camaro 4 speed. The origonal line setting ticket came with it and it confirms that it was an Rs camaro 4 speed car. To my suprise, the guy I bought it from gave me the origonal 305 engine. I suspected the tranny to be missing, but when I got the car home, the numbers matching tranny and linkages, clutch peddal cross member spedo cable shifter and the nuts and bolts were in the trunk. the tranny is just a plain jane siganaw 4 speed, but I was wondering if it was worth finding another parts car to put this one back together. Thanks for the help.
what really matters is the body and frame. if the frame and body has minimal rust, then its worth keeping. it would be easier and probably cheap to jsut buy a gm crate motor for 1600 bucks, but if you look around, you can find some nice motors for less then a grand. same with tranny's. you can get a brand new one for around 700-900 bucks, but once again look around.
