Default Winshield Removal

I need to remove the winshield from my 77 to go in my 79. Does anyone have a good way to un-a$$ the bottom of the winshield from the car without breaking it?

I've used thin piano wire for that with good luck Something around .060"-.070" should work. Make sure you wear gloves so it wont cut into your hands, then just work it through the seals and start pulling it around the edge with one guy inside and one outside until it cuts the seal all around.
I buy rolls of it for around $5 to make small springs and for other misc. uses.

Try wrapping it around a screw driver. I have one done it once and the wire started to saw into the dash. It was a newer car though with plastic all the way to the glass.

So this is the 79 huh, glad you finally got her can't wait to see some progress. Yeah i heard of people using piano wire too, i wonder if a paint stripper/heater would help the process more?

Default Rear end question

I recently picked up a 3:42 posi rear end. Can I take the guts out of the rear end currently in my car and replace with the posi guts? Or would it be simpler to replace the entire rear end. I don't know squat about rear end components (most of you know that haha), so I am looking for the easiest route there. I got lot's of metal in my yard, and am looking to effectively use the good stuff, and recycle the rest. This rear end is a source of contention with my better half.
What should I look for/what are limiting factors???

Pulling the whole thing would be easier if you don't know how to set the gears up.

I figured that'd be the case, I guess it'll give me a chance to blast and paint the new rear end. I shouldn't gripe, it came with traction bars and a sway bar...all more stuff that needs cleaned up, but it'll come out nicer in the end.

Even if i knew how to set the gears up, I'd still swap rearends sooner than posi units.
