if you get the firebird throw the 400 in there, it is more like the origional than a 454.

In the process... You dont have a car yet???

Anyhow, You want to get a 427 or a 454 built or the car?

They are not that rare, you are trying to get any 454 or any 427 right, Any pickup or old truck (70's and 80's0 has a 454. Get one and build it for your specs.

A 427 is a little more rare than a 454 but its still able to be done.

Good luck

make sure its a car block tho...the truck blocks have a taller deck or some thing and makes it a lot harder to fit under the hood. found this out when i was doing mine. would u be getting the motor hole or building it from block up?

Thats so wierd about the car and truck blocks, I have a 350 from a truck I believe, it fits kindof tight, I have a cowl hood so it dosnt matter too much, How are all the internal parts the same if its a different block though? Just wondering,

I know what you mean about the tight fit.
