Price on 1973 Z28 RS
I've found a car local to me, it is a '73 Z28 RS with everything original. The car needs a new brake line but otherwise runs fine. Interior is OKAY, but hole in back seat. Exterior is a bit rough, needs paint and the piece that goes around the grille.
Now, what should I expect to pay for this? The NADA value is $16,168 on the low end, with an average of $28,710.

Thanks

hell yeah, if you can get it that cheap, and you send it to a shop you will have another ten grand in it but it will be a damn nice ride, basically a show car that you can still drive. another 5-7 in motr upgrades you got the sweetest car on the street, period.

I've really got my heart set on a '70 or '71 but I think 4K for this car is too good to pass up...
The car is all original #s matching, and comes with original bill of sale. I could probably buy it and turn around and sell online and sell it for twice that with just fixing the brake line and throwing in the piece around the grille (does anyone know where I can get that piece?)

I would kind of like something I can hold onto for a few years and would prefer a 70 or 71 simply for appreciation in the investment....they are cheap now but on their way up. I suppose all low 70s would be a relatively decent investment though.
Is it easy to replace the rear brake lines on these cars?

easy enough, like all old cars its work, bolts will shear off, and you will prolly end up stripping a couple fittings, frustrating, but not terrible. and like you said, of gen 2 70 or 71 will be worth more, and 72 wont be bad, 73 is kinda on the fringe imo

I agree about '73 being on the fringe.
There is another car I've been eyeing that is about an hour and a half away (In Michigan).
Its a sharp looking ( like this colour) 1976, much better exterior than the 73.
I don't know much about this year, but the hood seems different than any others I have seen, must be after-market. its a 4 speed () with a 350 V8. Car is clean inside and out, with an Edelbrock carb and intake. (~90K miles) Car does run/drive, and the owner is asking $4500...
The Pros of this car:
-manual
-can drive it straight home, instead of fiddling with the brakes first
-Exterior is good, interior nearly perfect... requires very little major work in the short term
Now this car is out of the "early 70s" that I have been looking at but looks like a nice car and would be fun to own for a year or two.
Thoughts?

I like, you have to remember the big bumpr cars were underpowered stock, but she looks mean, and it would be fun. As for the hood, its aftermarket, that is a scoop used on Corvettes with the L88 engine option, cool design I always thought, almost put one on my car
