I went out and bought a new pair of Dr. Scholls tennis shoes, plus the gel insoles too! If I hadn't had them I'd have faded before noon! My feet are still killing me from all the miles of blactop and no place to sity down and rest! I was sitting on my cart rail on occasion, just for any place to sit, but it's not pleasant either! ;(

just found out about it today. have a couple buddies heading down tomorrow. i dont have the time to make it. lol, all the good stuff is gone now anyways.

 

ill be going down tommarow after my last class in corvallis and then spend the rest of the weekend out there. had my grandpa go to the track today and he found some NOS rally wheel derby caps or turbines for my 68 and he picked em up for $80 for the set! cant wait to put them on the 68. hoping to find a 58 impala top chrome piece for our custom we are doing.

 

Another great day, but the indoor part of the meet takes up 4 huge buildings, and not much I needed in there. I di find the new gas pedal for my Suburban for $9 NOS, and also the "Chevrolet" emblem for the tailgate for $2. Picked up a chrome finned pan for the TH350 in my Austin for $10 new!
My neighbor and his brother are starting a 1936 Plymouth Coupe gasser project, and they hauled a ton of stuff home both days.
saw a 1971 complete Camaro body and chassis with no engine or trans for $1500. Needed some minor rust repair, but fairly straight. Std. model with a spoiler and cowl hood, but hood was a crappy cowl install. Still it could have been purchased for $1,000, as the seller offered that to me. Don't need another project, so I passed.
There were a lot of great deals on early project cars from the 30's and 40's, and a lot of complete cars that were priced pretty high from what I saw. Still some of them were going out the door, so the economy must be going better.

 

I found so many cool things Thursday that I forgot the new valve covers I found for the Austin's 327! They're a pair of old Corvette covers that were modified to accept some really nice old breathers. I love them, and they'll go much better with the old school look of the Austin than the new polished tall valve covers I have on now!


Cleaned them up a bit today, and I'll pick up some gaskets and install them soon!

 

Absolutely perfect. I'm not just kissin your azz either. That is exactly what I would have done. Honestly your making me want a gasser now. I would prefer a 46' *****'s coupe. At least I think that the year. I had a model of one when I was a kid and that car always stuck in my mind.

nice score on the valve covers my grandpa picked up a nice set of the same old corvette valve covers but they are polished. I got the correct water thermostat housing for my 68. its the wierd shaped one came on l79 novas, vettes and z28 camaros. also found some sweet die cast real cheap for my collection.

 

Thanks Damon! I'm having a lot of fun with the Austin, and can't wait to drive it to cruises and Wed. night drags/cruise this summer! On the ****** I'd guess you meant a '40-'41 coupe like the old Stone-Woods&Cook ****** coupe. Not sure they even made a coupe in 1946.
