No,I am not into storing cars,I drive my stuff.I have a heavily modded 07 Lingenfelter Z06,and,I have a 2012 Boss 302 coming this week, maybe next, and only so much space.I just do not drive the camaro enough to justify storing it.Its not a fire sale,I will keep it if I have to.I may put it back to 100% stock this winter and sell off the drivetrain thats in it.What a downgrade for the driving experience. You ever driven a 70 or 71 Z with solid lifters and an M22 with 3:73s down the highway, not my idea of a fun ride.Right now its perfect.Just for the record,I an a LS motor sicko and proud of it.If I had it to do all over, there would be an LS7 in the Camaro.

If you want to see how the Z28 rolls,go to you tube and punch in (71 camaro vs 70 el camino). The 70 El camino has a mild but decent built 454.The Z went 3 for 3 that day LOL LOL You can also see my Zo6 (atomic Orange)getting beat by a beautiful white 70 Firebird (540 BB w/nitrous) and a red ac Cobra.I couldn't hook at all on the concrete with those tires.Fun day though!

Yes, I have driven and ridden in a 70 Z28 with solid lifters, and after 41 years it's still burned into my memory as one of the high points in life! I personally loved it as much as a solid lifter '69 302 that I had a similar experience in. In fact it's what made me want a 2nd Gen Camaro from that ride on! Took me 2 more years to get one, but I did!

Am I wrong in assuming you guys are refering to short hops around town? And I didn't mean any dissrespect.I live in a rural area and anytime I go anywhere I have to get on the highway. With the 5speed one has the best of both worlds,1 thru 4 for dragging,5th for doing 75mph without overwinding the motor at highway speeds.Different strokes for different folks.

Can't say as I ever felt I was overwinding a smallblock with 3.73 gears. Two of my rides have 3.73 gears now, and I don't find them to be a problem overwinding at freeway speeds.
My '46 Austin has a 327 with 3.73 gears and runs around 2600 down the freeway. My '69 truck also has the same, (no tach) but it doesn't sound wound out going down the freeway.

I was just commenting. Not offended. I had 26" tires with 3.73 and while it didn't sound over reved on the highway, I wanted off. That car had a T10. The M22 might add to the noise a bit. Thats part of why there strong. Less pitch on the gears.
