I will give the transmission guy a call and see what he says. If not I might just sell it and use the turbo 350 I have for now.

 

Problems with the Saginaw. It has a deep first gear. With BB torque first gear is gonna be worthless. Tire fryer for sure but to much transfer it won't hook. If it did hook then the inherent weakness of the tranny will let you down. Good luck. I haven't heard of anyone who specializes in beefing up Saginaws. Not sayin it can be done, but its not common.

 

Saginaws are basically 3 spd. trannies with an extra gear in them. Not known for much strength, and even if the gears held, the case might not.

 

Well luck happened to be on my side tonight. We had a guy come buy our 62 corvette tonight and I mention my transmission problem and he is trading me a borg warner t10 for the saginaw.

You did great! The T10 is a much better choice!

 

I might set the motor and tranny in it tonight to do a mock up. I will post pictures if I do.
