O_o is that an antenna I see? I'm not familiar with factory original however my 78' doesn't have an antenna did yours come with one like that or is that something you did?

Factory antenna is sandwiched within the windshield glass.
That is an add-on.

 

Sorry, I don't exactly understand what you mean Thor. The factory antenna part of the windshield? Or rather is it a separate entity around the glass? I always though that the little silver cap on the drivers side front fender was part of the original antenna on my 78'. Is the little silver cap something else entirely? If needed I can grab some pictures of this silver cap thingy.
