Default Old and new friends.

Well I've haven't been on alot due to work, Overtime is great but it can also suck. But a couple of weeks ago I sold the 79 Z28 basically gave it away at $2,040 but I didn't want to invest more money in a car I didn't want and in a minute you'll know why I wanted the cash.

So anyways sold the 79, my first car. Learned alot with that car and your guy's help but it's time for better and brighter things.

This Camero Z-28 is the car that I'll be getting monday supposedly a z28 and #'s matching so long as the title checks out and all is well. Talked to the guy a bit 2 weeks ago, he had a work project so we've had to wait to make the deal. Calling him sunday to make sure he hasn't sold it on me or anything.

So now it begins, I want to keep this car( or the one I get if this doesn't work out) for the rest of my life obviously I don't know if that will happen because everyone knows stuff comes up and money get's tight, but that's my plan so I am either going to make this car to be the most fuel efficient that I can and use it as my daily driver. Or performance orientate it and have a second car that gets good mpg's.

So that's where your guy's opinions come in, so with the camaro being a DD and trying to scavenge every possible mpg I can, what would be the best choice for an engine? Which of these would get the best mpg's? 305 I'm guessing but I'm just not sure if I want to go that small. I know I sound pretty damn gay trying to build a MPG orientated camaro but I want to drive it, and not just on the week ends.

The ls engine is a bit pricey imo and I would want to carburate it to keep it simple right now but will it get any better mpg's then the 350?

And then there's the option to get another car that get's mpg's which will leave the camaro as more of a slow going side project since I would be getting more expensive parts and such. I'm trying to figure out if it would even be cheaper having another car that get's mpg's cause I'd have to pay insurance on 2 cars.

This is the car I'm considering as a second car for mpg's I don't think I'd pay more then $2,000 with those miles though.

Sorry for the long read but let me know what you guys think.

If you decide you want to get better gas mileage then get fuel injection. Find a 3 gen donner car then talk to these guys about the swap. you can move everything as far as the fuel injection goes and have a nice 350 that gets like 22 mpg.

If you want 30+ mpg then get a second car.

I personally would want a second car. I love classics and have
several of them. I have several because one always needs something. Find a $1200 little truck and have a nice parts truck that gets good gas mileage.

That car is close to me. If I needed another project I would be interested in that one.
Make sure it is solid and not a rust bucket. Seems like a good price.

Hey buddy. OT is what builds my car.

When you get there and have the title in your hand. Smack his *** in the face and tell him Damon says theres no e in Camaro. JK. But good to hear from you.

P.S. all of our projects got moved to the new projects sections if you want to see whats going on.

Yeah man good to be back it's been raining for a week so I've been off. I noticed that section, when I get it I'll have to post a project thread in there I guess.
But about the 'e' I'm honestly glad that he wasn't smart enough to google it cause when someone searches 'camaro' it doesn't come up lol probably the only reason someone hasn't bought it out from under me cause the car was his dad's who passed away and the title was open {as in no buyer had signed} but to get it notorized so I can insure and drive it in wyoming I need the seller present so his mom is supposed to have gotten it up to date so I can just go get it done monday.
