As Damon said, you can usually pull the dipstick and wipe the oil off with your finger, then smell it and it will smell like gas. With a fuel pump leaking gas will get past the diaphram and dilute the oil, same results.

hmm it mostly smells like oil but there could be the slightest scent of gas but i'm not sure...im almost thinking that the car could be running alittle rich right now because when its running you can smell gas pretty easily...if the carb is too rich/lean would it cause the engine to bog when you step on it?

Yes, an improperly adjusted carb can cause driving issues, and possibly a bog. Have you tried tuning it, or is it just too old to mess with?
If you had enough gas in the oil to cause low pressure, you'd definitely smell it very strong. Sounds like that's not the problem.

what oil filter are you using? i have had a couple of mechanical gages go bad in the crabber. one just quit showing any pressure. freeked the begebbers out of me. took a minute to figure out that if i had no oil pressure the alternator would not be working, its hooked to a pressure switch, and it was working so i knew i had at least 5 lbs pressure. anyways it could also be normal wear has caught up and thats how it is.

yea its not like it has completely failed and is showing no pressure because that would scare me too but im almost thinking that maybe something is just wearing out...how much pressure would be the minimum to drive it under? because right now the lowest its getting is about 20psi at 1000rpms
