OER Dash

OER Dash
I got the new OER dash in the camaro with mounting tabs lose (don't want to tighten them till everything is correct) but I can't seem to get bottom pieces of dash to line up correctly. Looks like I might have to do some triming and add a couple of screws. Any one else who has done a replacement run into these same problems. Any tips or secrets to getting this done?

Sorry, I haven't done an OER dash. I've had mine off, and also done a couple of repair caps for dash's, but haven't done the aftermarkets. I've used OER parts and some are great, while others required some "finessing" to get them to fit.
Got any pics of how it's sitting now? Might help to determine what it needs.

Just installed
Just put a new OER dash in my 75. I had to trim the ends as it was too long an caused it to bow. Also the stud on the far left did not match any mounting hole. I cut a slot into where the stud should go. This allowed me to kind of adjust as I went. Best thing to do is put the whole damn thing together outside of the car first. And I mean all the lower panels and all. It took some finessing especially for the screws up inside the dash. You can put it in whole minus the panels under the column but it would be a pain. Best to mount everything outside first for easier adjustment. I trimmed the ends with a coping saw. That did pretty decent and once the interior is completely back together you will not be able to tell. Will get some pics today and post them.

Ya the panel under the colum is what doesn't want to line up, and the 2 screws in front of the gauge bezil looks like I will have to drill them. I'm going to loosen all the tabs and bottom mountings screws and see if that gives me enough play. But I may have to trim some where the under dash pieces fit together.
