New intake =new idle
Replaced perf rpm with 300-110 holley. Basically a taller bigger port strip Dom. It really likes it. Anyway it idles 300 rpm lower and with no loss of bottom I picked up huge in mid/top.
Different angle to show the perfect balance of motor. Even with a rough idle it sits perfectly still. Has a lighter bob weight than a 350 but 396ci.

It's a custom grind from a comp billet. 232@.050 .630. Mechanical roller. There is no adv dur. 106 centerline. wasnt told Ls angle or int/exh open/close. The heads are what makes this motor though well the head/cam match I guess. That cam really isn't that big but it has an .035 bigger int valve. It runs best shifted at 7200.

The cam isn't really that big? It may not have a ton of duration, but well over .600" lift is a big cam for any SBC! That's bigger than a lot of BBC cams, and almost every SBC cam I've ever owned.
Yea you're right. It's the biggest I've had. I guess what I meant is that the heads compliment it well bc they can use it. Now on a stock 185cc 2.02 valve head it would be tremendously huge. Waay too big. We used a bigger valve and more lift (as well as port matching,cc work, valve job) to keep duration down as duration affects idle quality and vacuum more. I was told the .035 bigger valve was worth 15-20*duration. So realistically I've heard smaller cams with lower vacuum and higher idle (cant idle at 950) with more chop, with smaller heads. Wasn't trying to misrepresent.
Lol my bad left that off. Yea I'd say 110-112 probably. He didn't want me to duplicate so he didn't give me everything and that was one of specs I didn't get. I meant dur vs lift, but Ls has more effect than both. It seems to have a fairly wide powerband and starts fairly low believe it or not. I'm running a 2200 stall with no problems except idle drop in gear. I trusted him to build it and glad I did it's seen close to 10k street miles and over 70 passes. Yea I think he did good too he has a nice cnc Mach and grinds all his. He said it would sound good run better...I told him to make it silent, but I didn't get everything I wanted...lol took him 3 months too I wanted sooner.
Thank you! I put one up just now last year's fun in this section. A bunch of races, of course ones I won...I lost a bunch too...
My hood has a hole just like the one on your hood. I used a 4" cowl and I needed every inch. When the weather gets better I will mount the scoop from underneath. Right now it is riveted to the top to get it out for testing. I am an old guy so I still have trouble getting pictures up let alone video. Once again thanks for sharing your project.
