New Carb ?

Default New Carb ?

Needing a new carb not sure whats the best anymore, I know it USE to be a holly back in the day. Any ideas im trying to get a plan here on my toy. 1980 Z28

i just pciked up an edelbrock not to long ago....just tossed it on the car and its ran great ever scicne. i think it was an edelbrock performer 600cfm

Im partial to edelbrock too. had mine a long time, no problems at all.

Thanks. Thats the Edelbrock thunder AVS with the endurashine finish 650. Its not cheap, but heres a link if you are still shopping..

Thanks thats about the same price i was looking at for the holly 750. Will sure make the rest of my motor look lik crap, Might save that till i do a rebuild this winter. I found a book thats supose to help ya doit step at a time.Cant think of a better way to learn. ( Not mechanic )

Great. Looks like you have a good handle on it. Holleys are great carbs too, alot of people here swear by them,although Ive heard they can be a little finicky, needing periodic adjustments. Maybe you will end up being a carb guru, you never know.

What book are you talking about? Id like to get a copy.

It was at JC Whitney, Think it was a chiltons i will look for the link later and post it have to get to work now.

If you can find a chiltons carb manual, HANG ON TO IT!.. Also, what are you looking to do with the car? Holly and Edelbrock are both good however, if you are looking to drag your car or something like that there are better ones out. As a generic rule, if you are looking for decent numbers and decent fuel economy go with Edelbrock, racing go with holley.
