What's 22g? If you want to clean it up you might take some blue painter's tape and run it around the edges, then you'll have a nice straight border to guide you, and protect the finish too. I'd use a sanding disc on an angle head grinder and carefully sand it smooth. Then you can use touchup paint to paint the raw edge.
Or if you want to really finish it off weld a piece of edge material all around and then lend it in with filler and repaint the hood. That' what I did on my old hotrod.

I like the scoop, but I think it will look even better if it isn't extended so far above the hood opening. I'd cut the spacer down so the lower edge of the scoop is even with the top of the hood. That way you don't see a huge gap around the scoop looking into the engine compartment.

Those are all important if you drive in the winter, but if you do drive in the winter you might suck lots of water and road grunge with the scoop! Does that scoop even have a filter in it?

yes it has a filter in it, and i wont drive it in the snow, there is no rust on it at all. But the scoop does have an air filter, and i can take it off and i have a piece of plexi glass thats cut out for it that has magnets on it and i can place it over the hole. This way no water gets down into the carb. Well nothing can easily get into it,

Does an air cleaner fit under the plastic cover when the scoop is off? That will stop the rain and gunk to get down the carb if it will fit. Wet roads and puddles will really splash up into the engine compartment, and amazing where it goes and how it gets in there!
