Default Need MORE HORSEPOWER and TORQUE

Hello, I have an 1980 Z28 camaro with a 355ci (its been bored 0.030 over) with all the usual bolt ons such as: holley 670cfm carb street avenger, holley dominator intake manifold, headers, 2.5" true dual exhaust to flowmaster 40's, holley mechanical fuel pump, small camshaft (not sure what cam it is because the guy who sold me the car didnt install it, so he has no idea either), 14"x3" normal air filter, delco remy HEI distributor. Not pertaining to the engine I have a th-400 transmission, 12 bolt rear-end with spool and 4.56 gears. Also the frame has been tied.

So my question is, what other things can I do to the engine to make more power and torque?

Thanks

How much more power do you want, and what's your budget like?

Well right now i probably have around 300-330hp to the rear wheels, but I want to get at least 400-450hp to the rear wheels. My budget is average, like I dont plan on getting a blower, turbo, or nitrous just yet. I would like to get more power with changing or buying components !

I wanna be able to beat my parents jeep srt8 at the track

what heads do you have? you could get the whole valve train redone, maybe a slightly bigger cam. and what stall converter do you have?

I'm pretty sure the heads on my car are stock. My stall is about 1500rpm which is pretty much stock.

ok, you could get a higher stall TC..i think a TCI 3200 rpm stall, and with thos gears and good traction you should have a good 60' time..its kinda hard to tell tho cuz 425 hp and 4wd would be pretty hard to beat...

btw, maybe gasket match or port and polish the heads too, that will free up a little extra power

rear wheel drive as better acceleration though and with those gears you should smoke them off the line

What does gasket match mean?
How much do you think it would cost for port and polishing the heads or is it better off to just buy brand new heads?

jason7504 do you know what a 2008 Jeep Cherokee SRT8 is and how much power they makes?
