Keep the Jeep and buy a camaro to?
I'm pretty mechanically inclined and will work to get the problem fixed if any. I wish I could buy two cars... I'm a junior in college at the moment, so the income is non-existent.

Well, Jeeps are know to go easily to 250,000 miles. I've seen some that have gone 350 in person, and they run the same.

I'm saddened by the responses about not getting the car, and I understand. I just don't want to. I was under the impression that camaros were reliable cars. :-(

Any other inputs would be appreciated.

Camaro's can be very reliable i just think you have to know the car to really understand it lol if that makes any sense to you. But if you are machanically inclined and really want it, go for it.

Reliability has nothing to do with a engine built who knows were. Could be some grease moneys garage with so much oil dry on the floor it might as well be dirt OR a professional shop were you can eat off the floor. Engine assembly can be screwed up more easily than done perfect. I guess my point is the ad never mention the bottom end or didn't describe it at least. If its stock (stock parts rebuilt) it won't last being beat on.

Plus to get the true performance potential out of that Camaro you'll need to add some lower gears like 4.10 and even a higher stall converter like a 3500 to 4000 stall. I had a engine like that in my last Camaro with a cam that's pretty close to whats in that. Lower gears and higher stall converter will use more fuel. I don't like buying a performance car that someone else has built. I like to do it myself so I really know what was done and how it's been driven.

I honestly would not buy that car whether I was in your situation, or my situation and I've had cars like that before. Way to many things can go wrong with a used car, that multiplies when they're built to be high performance cars. I'd steer clear of that car. If you want a Camaro, try to find one that is pretty much stock and go from there! Just my $.02, YMMV!

Rawrgobble Camaros can be reliable as long as you know how to work on them and keep them in good running order.

I looked at the car today, and it wasn't as pretty as he made it sound in the ad. I also test drove it. It didn't track straight at all, and the engine was so "powerful" that the slightest touch to the pedal squealed the tires. It was way too much power for me... He lowered it to the point that it was 3.5 inches at it's lowest point to the ground. I know I'd screw that up pretty quick.

Thank you all for the advice! You're an amazing group of people!

are you saying the body of the car was 3.5 inches off the ground? If so that thing must have air bags on it, on my cav i got a 2 inch drop and im no where near that low. Also just like 77nomad said Good luck in the future, if you cant handle power then just stick with your jeep or get a honda. LOL
