Default My new 71'

Okay, so I just purchased my second 2nd gen and it seems worth the money I paid (new paint/interior, 355 ci, TH350 w 3000 stall and shift kit, 12 bolt posi with 3.31 gears). I only have one question and I know it is stupid but I have never run across this before so....the heater hoses are not hooked up, is this just to make the engine bay look a lil better or will this cause over heating issues for me? If that is the case I will just hook them back up....is it just that easy? Thanks in advance!

It depends on what the PO was doing with the car. Some people like to delete the heater core for sunday drivers, race cars, but I see your's is still there. What do you want to do with this car?

Hard to say if the PO removed them for looks or because the core was leaking. Either way it wont make the car run hotter by removing the hoses and plugging the ports.

I just bought the car but have not taken delivery of it yet so without looking at it in person it's hard to say. I wanna think that the PO just removed the hoses for aesthetic purposes but I could be wrong. for all I know the core is leaky....(which I hope not). Either way, I would like to run the heater when it's cold and even use the heater to keep the thing from getting too hot during the summer months (if I have to). Again, I have never come across this before so it's good to hear that it's not super important that the heater hoses be hooked up.....

I see that the PO also installed an electric fan, do you know anything about the specs on it?

Looks like at least a 350 with old camel hump 2.02 heads. Also deleted the mechanical fuel pump and running an electric pump. I'd guess someone built up a decent looking engine, and let it go asthetically. A little elow grease and polishing should bring it back to nice looking.
