my camaro hasa sunroof!.. is it natural?
hey, can ne1 tell me if camaro did a model without t-tops nd fitted a sunroof ona 78?.. just i know sunroof fitting can be done by my 5yo brother...but it looks too neat 2 b diy, but two of the inner screw heads have rung off...so before i turn to butchering the sunroof 2 get it out, just wanated to know if it wasnt original.
my intentions were welding the roof back up and restoreing to a hardtop, im aware that the roof aint level, and is rounded all over... should i look in2 a roof chop and repaste? i have another 79 here wich i so dont wana chop up, but if i have to... i will!
ne ideas ppl?

I do think you should splice in a original roof. I would not cut up a fixable car with a title. Since this is not one of the common rust areas you should be able to find a unfixable non-title shell. Anything 1970-81 will work.

My dad has a 69 hardtop and they had a sun roof in before we bought it. We cut a roof off of a junker 69 firebird and just cut the part out to patch the hole. We welded it in just keep tack welding in diferent spots untill we got the whole thing welded in. You don't want to weld it all at once or it will shrink and oil can. Then we just filled a little with body filler. It looks great and we haven't had a problem yet. I'll post pics later you can't even tell it was ever done.

My 71 has a sunroof too, and I've always planned to remove it, just haven't got there yet!
