I would think you would need a Bell housing from a 3rd gen V8 Camaro to get it to bolt up. Problem is the T5 for the camaro is twisted 15 degs so it takes up less space. If you twist the mustang trans now you shifter is pointing towards you. Might be easier to sell the ford T5 and get a complete setup out of the 3rd gen. 4.3 2wd S10 bell housing may work for you but I have not heard of anyone doing it.
Possible? Yes,,, Problems? yes

All non-overdrive transmission will have 1:1 for the final gear. I am not sure there is a lot of choices for saginaws. Your camaro was designed to have the shifter bolt right to the side of the tail housing. If the trans is coming out of a truck or van it may not have these holes drilled and tapped. Its not hard to drill and tap them out just something to think about.
You will need the complete shifter and linkage from or for a 2 gen camaro. There are a lot of aftermarket shifter out there and I am sure there are a buch of used one if you know where to look.

Just a word of advice. Saginaw trannies in any form are poop. I had a 76 Nova 350 four speed with nothing more than a mild cam, intake, carb, and headers. Not very wild at all. Long story short, I got good at replacing them. Three in one summer. I later bought a Borg Warner T-10 out of a 79 T/A. That was 11 years ago and I'm getting ready to put it in my 78 Z. Shop around, the Saginaws will be a headache in the end.

Saginaws are nothing more than a low performance 3 spd with one more gear. Wont handle any abuse from even a 305, let alone a stock 350.

145 horses should be fine for it though...
But 150$ and comes with linkage and shifter
drop it and bolt it up
of it breaks.. I'm out 150$ but I have a 4 speed shifter and linkage
it's the 3.5 wide *** gear ratio though.. So seems alright for cruising.
It's not meant to be fast

We did the same upgrade to my brothers. I think it was 145 HP also. He ran it for years. He did not dog the car much. When your only pushing 145 ponnies there is not much reason to try and show off.
