Mustang guy getting a Camaro.
Hey guys, this would be my first post here.
Well my dad and I are thinking of getting a 1968 Camaro Z/28. It's in good shape and the guy is asking 17000 for it, I dont have pictures or details yet, but seeing as this has always been a dream car of mine, I'm trying to convince my father to get it.
And for all you purists, I'm a Ford/Chevy fan, I bought the Mustang in my signature because they dont make 2006 Camaros...
Ok here's the question...
Is 17K a good price?
Z28's had what...383's in them? I know its a small block Chevy but not a 350, correct?
And are there any issues these cars commonly have?

Well I'm not too keen on Camaros, but with Mustangs (which are the counterpart to Camaros) you cant get a 65-68 fastback for anything under 20K in good shape. Seems like 67-69 Camaros are very wanted...
$17,000 for a late 60's Camaro is questionable. Recently in my car shopping search I've seen 67'-69' RS's for as low as $5,000, and SS's and Z28's from around $7,00-$15,000. For around $11,000 you should be able to get a good one.
Glad to see more Ford guys changing teams. I have seen 68's for as little as $2k all the way to 40k. All has to do with condition and options. Not all 68 z's had 302's in them. If yours does, it's definitely worth the money. Good luck.

If its a true 68 Z28 and has the org. stamped engine and trans, is in good cond. its worth 17,000
You just need to make sure it is a real Z28 as there are a lot of fakes out there

302 is the only engine that came in 67-69 Z28. The 302 was only put in the 67-69 Z28. To get a 67-69 Z28 you had to have a 4sp, front disc brakes, and no A/C.
